I met the wonderful Debbie Rogerson, BBC music supervisor, over lunch at the Crown & Sceptre, Great Titchfield St, W1 today. Always a total pleasure to catch up on her news and to share more industry stories and contacts.
Mid-afternoon, Debbie headed back to Portland Place and I wandered into Soho. Firstly for a drink at The George, in D’Arblay St, then as I had a few hours before my next proposed event later in the day, I noted that Wicked at the Odeon, Leicester Square was about to start and so I bought a ticket. As you can imagine, I am hardly the film’s target audience, but I was prepared to see what the pre-opening fuss was about. As it turned out, I stayed for half its running time (an overlong 2 hours and 40 minutes) before exiting into the London’s chilly evening air.
A very pleasant visit to La Roche cafe in St Martin’s Lane followed, plus a drink at The Clermont, Charing Cross, before I continued on my way.
