PRS for Music held their annual Members’ Day event at the IET in Savoy Place this afternoon. This enables songwriters, composers and PRS staff to usefully handle enquiries and exchange experiences. The music copyright collective presents a series of industry seminars specifically designed to assist its members with song registration, understanding their rights, getting paid, and to discuss contemporary issues such as AI and composition.
It was a pleasure to meet several members of the extremely helpful PRS team, including Andy Ellis, John Wyatt and Daniel Jones. Plus many contemporaries in the industry, namely pianist, writer and producer Alex Webb, trombonist and former MU official Pete Thoms, award-winning jazz multi-instrumentalist Orphy Robinson, songwriter and campaigner Crispin Hunt, composer and pianist Genia, songwriter and journalist Helienne Lindvall, plus classical guitarist and singer Chu’Lu.
