A day of meetings, some online and some in person. Firstly, an MU Comms team meeting this morning on Teams, during which we collectively caught up with each other’s projects. This was swiftly followed by a Zoom meeting with the MU’s senior officials to discuss progress on the move to our new premises.
I then travelled into town to Snowsfields and the excellent Root Projects Cafe to meet guitarist Greg McLeish who wished to introduce me to his latest vinyl release. I then caught the tube across town and walked from Bond Street to Mercato Mayfair in North Audley Street, where I met the charming artist and curator of Lucie’s Lounge, singer/songwriter Lucinda Sieger.
The photo shows the plaque in Snowsfields marking the site of the former Victorian era Ragged School, the main building of which is now the MU HQ. The MU was founded in Manchester in May 1893, so the date is particularly opportune.
