Wembley sunshine

My son Ben and I caught the train from Marylebone out to Wembley Stadium this afternoon and, having enjoyed the England band playing the classics around the Bobby Moore statue, met up with my long-term England match friend Peter Brown before taking our seats in the F Section behind a goal (in what was once the home fan C Section at the old Wembley).

England were facing Bulgaria in a European Championship qualifying fixture and current form showed this to be a fairly straightforward task for Kane, Sterling and co. Once the visitors’ defence was breached around the half hour mark,  a home victory was assured and England marked up a 4-0 victory.

Before leaving we found the family stone (in zone 101) that has been relocated to the wall running around the outside of the stadium. Cue more photos.

The two of us caught the train back into town and then a bus to Victoria Station where we dined on an Ed’s Diner burger. A memorable boys’ day out.
