A waterborne adventure today for my wife Julie, myself and our son Ben, courtesy of a speedboat trip down the Thames from Embankment Pier to Canary Wharf and back. At hair-raising speed from Tower Bridge onwards, with James Bond music to add to the thrills. Thanks to Dawn Newman for buying Julie her ticket as a 50th birthday present. We then strolled along the Southbank, stopping in at Wahaca Mexican cafe and bar for a cocktail, before catching the train home from Waterloo East.
