Sky falling

An amazing trip to Suffolk as Julie, Lisa, Ben and I drove to Beccles Airfield to support Lisa in her skydive over the East Anglian countryside. Sunshine and light breeze greeted her encouraging band of supporters, including her close friend Daniel, her biological father Tim Pepper, his partner Cheryl and her half sisters Charlie and Summer.

Lisa was making the tandem jump on behalf of Royal Association of Deaf People (for more details please visit their Facebook page). Despite considerable nervousness on her part in advance, Lisa said the experience was amazing and she is now keen to make a second jump!

We then drove to Southwold on the coast and enjoyed a pleasant lunch at the Lord Nelson, before walking down to the beach where Lisa and Charlie dived in the sea fully clothed! We then said goodbye to her extended family and friends and Julie, Ben and I dropped into the Black Tile pub on the outskirts of Ipswich to meet my long-term friends and ex-work colleagues, Julian and Julie Clapson. Great to see them too.

A dark, rainy drive back down the A12 followed, but we arrived home safely. Certainly a day to remember.
