Jonathan Stewart and I met up in Soho this evening to attend the inaugural ‘SO.CO Music Photographer of the Year Awards’, an international competition – sponsored by Affinity Photo – to celebrate the best music photographers.

On hand in the crowded bar area of venue Studio 21 could be found the ever-engaging Harvey Goldsmith, RoTD’s Paul Scaife and other renowned industry names. The event featured six awards and excellent live performances by singer/guitarists Nadia Sheikh and Tom A Smith.

So.Co CEO Vince Bannon said: “The music photography community is thriving more than ever, it’s been fantastic to see it come together for this celebration of the art form. We’ve had a blast honouring some of the best in the game with our first year and can’t wait to build the event in the years to come.”

My thanks to organisers and presenters Vince, Christian, Adam Perry and Göran Andersson. I also look forward to offering my feedback on the event to Adam in the near future. Well done everyone!
