I dropped into Chelsea’s 606 Club tonight to catch Andrea Vicari‘s refined British, Croatian, Dutch, Bulgarian lineup, ‘Jazz ExTempore’, featuring Elvis Stanic (guitar/accordion), Hristo Yotsov (drums/percussion) and Dorian Lockett (bass). One of our top contemporary pianists, Andrea has worked with several of the UK’s leading jazz names, including Tim Garland, Don Weller and Mornington Lockett. In addition to running an excellent band, Andrea is Professor of Jazz Piano at Trinity College plus MD of the Dordogne Jazz Summer School. I also met the knowledgeable Laura G Thorne, who handles digital marketing for the 606.
