The MU Communications and Government Relations team had an ‘away day’ event this morning, courtesy of Department Head Isabelle Gutierrez, at her riding school in Dulwich. Maddy Radcliff, Autumn Sharkey and myself enjoyed a walk and trot on our chosen horses, with a gentle pony called Tomas being my ride for an hour.
I had not ridden since the early 1970s, and I hardly gained much experience then, so it was an interesting mini-adventure to visit the stables and be involved in grooming the horses. It certainly made for a different start to the working week! Afterwards we returned to Isabelle’s place in Crystal Palace and spent several hours planning for the remainder of the year, including confirming ideas and logistics for the party conferences in the autumn.
