I made the short hop over to The Nightingale, Sutton this afternoon to catch a roof-raising performance by classic rock covers band Crash ‘N’ Burn, a four-piece outfit featuring lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist Ian McConnell, drummer and vocalist Mike Edgerton, lead guitarist Dave Low and bassist Steve Forster. A barnstorming set of high energy classics were delivered, including material by Led Zeppelin, Hendrix, the Police and Bryan Adams, with Stevie Wonder’s Superstition being the stand out. The enthusiastic punters were soon up and dancing and I recommend anyone in the south-east who loves a band serving in-your-face British grassroots rock to catch them live.
