Ashridge GC

Last night I drove from MU HQ in Oval to Hemel Hempstead, where I stayed overnight, so that I could make an early start at Ashridge Golf Club, the venue for the annual PPL and PRS for Music Golf Day.

Hosted by PPL CEO Pete Leathem, at his home course, I was teamed up with former partner Neil Allcock, Andrew Wynn and John Reid. The shotgun start saw us tee off at the 10th and we set off into the country in the sunshine, scoring well over our opening holes.

We dovetailed well as a fourball and came home recording a total of 97 points, which is usually enough to secure first place in a four-ball competition. However, there is a fierce rivalry for the trophy and we were pipped into second by the team led by Paul Sims, who won with an impressive total of 100 points.

I personally scored 38 points playing off a handicap of 12 and in retrospect those few putts that slid by, cost us the ultimate win.

Another memorable day and my thanks to Peter and all the organisers from PPL and PRS for making this such an enjoyable fixture in the industry calendar.
