I am pleased to report that the autumn issue of the MU’s award-winning magazine, The Musician, is being posted to UK based members in sustainably sourced and fully recyclable paper envelopes for the first time.
In addition, there are almost 100 members with overseas addresses, who we are mailing in a potato starch bag due to the demands of overseas postage impressions and the management of the overseas mailing providers.
This edition boasts a diverse range of features, reports and interviews, including profiles of Kojo Samuel, the Nova Twins and cover star Linton Stephens; a comprehensive report of the Union’s delegate Conference; a piece exploring how musicians can help to combat climate change and a report highlighting the value of music teaching.
There are to be three inserts with this edition:
- The Rule Changes carried at Conference
- The carried 2019 Conference Motions
- The MU Members’ Diary for 2020
The magazine is to be distributed in the third week of September. This a week later than our usual practice, but is due to the delivery schedule of the diaries.
Around 4,500 members have already opted for a non-print delivery of the magazine and we will be supplying them with a digital/pdf format.
Our visually impaired members will be subsequently emailed links to both the large print edition of the magazine and the accompanying audio files.
