Beautiful Days

Thanks to Neil Cooper, drummer with Therapy? (the dynamic Northern Irish rockers), for arranging tickets and backstage passes for Julie, Ben and myself at the Levellers’ festival, Beautiful Days, in Devon this weekend.  I was there to arrange features for an upcoming issue of The Musician as several artists – members of the MU – were scheduled to play.

It was also great to meet and see drummer Ralph Salmins mid-tour with The Waterboys, passionate Irish songwriter Damien Dempsey, Rhoda Dakar, Glen Matlock, headliner Alison Moyet and the Lightning Seeds.  However, the weather took a considerable turn for the worse on Sunday and the mud took its toll on our travelling around the site!  So we unfortunately missed Tom Hingley, amongst others, on the campsite bandstand.  Still, a fun and rewarding time!
