I met up with Musicians’ Union activist Amy Doyley and photographer Jonathan Stewart this afternoon at the London Bass Guitar Show, where I had arranged with organisers Future plc for the Union to sponsor, for the first time, both the main stage and the masterclass room.
It was a pleasure to catch up with so many name players, including Peter Hook, Mo Foster, Yolanda Charles, Dave Swift, Steve Lawson and Chris Clark of Hunter & the Bear. The two-day event is a must-attend for the bass-playing fraternity and its mix of seminars, exhibitors, masterclasses and demonstrations attracted a record attendance.
