West End meetings

This morning I made my way to PPL’s offices in Golden Square, Soho, for a meeting of the Communications Committee invited to promote the new Campaign for Healthy Arts. Chaired by Lynne McDowell, it was a pleasure to catch up beforehand with Jonathan Morrish and Alex Mann.

I had also arranged to meet Bev Whitrick of the Music Venue Trust for lunch and we met at Byron’s in Beak Street. I chose this location as it was the former site of Murray’s Club, which was where Christine Keeler met Stephen Ward in, I believe, 1961. A meeting that led to the Profumo Affair.

I then had an excellent haircut by Sue Brady at her ‘Barber’s Point’ around the corner in Kingly Street. Sue has worked there since 1976 and specialises in mod and 60’s cuts.
