I see her walking
to work everyday,
a slip of a girl
in blue, white or grey.
This job is meant to
bring its own reward,
but I know she gets
so dog-tired and bored.
True hearts and diamonds
are few and far between.
Knights in shining armour
nowhere to be seen.
Drinking at parties,
Martini with ice,
alone with her share
of sugar and spice.
Once more this morning
she rose with a curse
and picked up her coat,
some keys and a purse.
True hearts and diamonds
are few and far between.
Knights in shining armour
nowhere to be seen.
True hearts and diamonds
are few and far between.
Knights in shining armour
nowhere to be seen.
True hearts and diamonds
are few and far between.
