A very pleasurable couple of days catching up with some long-term media contacts. Firstly, MU General Secretary Naomi Pohl and I met The Stage’s Editor Alistair Smith and Deputy Editor Matt Hemley at Cafe Murano, Bermondsey Street for lunch at midday yesterday. I have worked in a PR capacity for the MU with The Stage for almost twenty years and, as ever, it was a very fruitful and enjoyable exchange.
I followed this with lunch today at The Club for Acts and Actors in Bedford Street, Covent Garden at the invitation of jazz supremo Chris Hodgkins. Thanks for a fascinating and in-depth conversation Chris!
I then walked over the river to Southwark and Marco Pierre White’s restaurant in Lavington Street, where I met my lovely wife Julie to celebrate her birthday in traditional English style with a sumptuous tea of classic delights.
As Tate Modern is a short walk from the restaurant, we took the opportunity to tour the galleries, before strolling along the riverbank to London Bridge Station and the train home. Lovely.
