I was asked this week by the Secretariat at the MU to create materials that musicians could share to show their support for the people of Ukraine. I contacted my nephew, print designer Steve, who immediately responded to the brief and drew up the ‘Make peace, make music’ logo shown here. I distributed this to my colleagues around the UK this morning and have also arranged for instrument case stickers and badges featuring the same message.
I also spoke to Steve’s dad this morning, my jazz musician brother Ken, who advised that he and his wife Debbie had been collecting clothing and blankets in his local area – Mudeford, Dorset – to send to the stricken area. Ken said that they had been overwhelmed by the generosity of the locals. Good work family.
