An impromptu trip proved rewarding as I marked my birthday down the Thames in the company of my wife Julie, my son Ben and stepdaughter Lisa. The destination being Battersea Power Station with a view to seeing what had been constructed, following all its years lying empty since the legendary landmark was decommissioned in 1983. The building is now principally a shopping centre, although it does boast a cinema, bars and restaurants alongside the 100 retail outlets.
After a walk around the interior, we explored the options in the outer perimeter and enjoyed a special tea at art’otel. We then caught the boat back to Westminster and stopped off for a final drink at the famous Hole in the Wall pub next to Waterloo Station. Thanks family!
