Blessed with glorious September sunshine, Julie and I spent the afternoon at the Oval as Surrey took on Durham in a County match as the home team aimed to secure the Championship in consecutive years.
Our tickets included a comprehensive tour of the ground and tea in the 175 Restaurant, all of which was a farewell gift from the MU upon my leaving in January.
The tour was a fascinating insight into the backstage areas of the famous venue and we were lucky enough to gain access to the commentary areas and the superb museum.
Our thanks to all the staff and tour guides who made the day thoroughly worthwhile.
