I could be found at the Oval today, courtesy of a Taverners’ event in the India Room, to enjoy both the venue’s excellent hospitality and a County Championship match between Surrey and Lancashire.
It was a pleasure to meet many new and famous faces, including media legend Chris Tarrant and his DJ son Toby, actor Robert Powell, former Surrey cricketer Darren Bicknell, plus organiser Ben Collins and the charming Linda Cooper.
The game saw the debut of Rocky Flintoff, Freddie’s son, who at the amazing age of 16 scored a very creditable 32 for Lancashire.
