The MU launched a campaign today, The Musician – Behind the Moment, which aims to highlight the world-class skill of British orchestral musicians. The campaign is the result of many weeks’ research, planning and creativity by the Union’s campaign team, Alice and Mo of FairPlay and Kindred, the PR agency led by Bethan Davies.
My role had focused in recent days on securing the support of name musicians, including Bond soundtrack composer David Arnold and orchestral soloist Alison Balsom. This collective work proved particularly successful, resulting in considerable media campaign coverage including Assistant General Secretary Naomi Pohl on breakfast BBC TV, General Secretary Horace Trubridge on regional BBC radio plus numerous shares on social media.
