A fun event this afternoon courtesy of the BPI, who were anticipating National Album Day this Saturday by hosting an online quiz. They had invited entrants from across the UK music industry and I had put together a team under the name of The Bowie Bandstand, consisting of former Inspiral Carpets lead singer Tom Hingley, my MU colleague Maddy Radcliff, plus Jeff Meyer and Daniel Newman from Future Publishing.
The event was being presented by Classic Album Sundays in partnership with Bowers & Wilkins and proved an engaging couple of hours. We knew quite a few answers, and did particularly well in the soundtrack round, but finished mid-table in the end.
Congratulations to the winning teams who tied at the top: Make Money Fast, The 1973, and Secret 7s Famous 5. Plus my thanks to my teammates for their knowledgeable contributions, and to Gennaro Castaldo, the BPI’s Director of Comms, for the invitation.
