MPA Summer Party

I attended the third annual MPA summer party this evening at Kings Place in Kings Cross. Also there on behalf of the MU were Jamie Pullman and Natalie Witts from our London office and we spoke to many friends from across the industry, including Peter Leathem and Andrew Ames of PPL.

We caught up with the news that Roberto Neri had been announced as the new Chair of the MPA at the preceding AGM and that Lucie Caswell had been appointed to the role of General Manager and Chief Policy Officer. Plus offered our congratulations to both Jackie Alway (former MPA Chair) for her OBE for services to the music industry in the Queen’s Birthday Honours, and to Andy Heath – MPA Board Director – for his well-deserved CBE.

I then hooked up with Michael Dugher and Tom Kiehl of UK Music, and as the event wound down, we were joined by Conor McGinn MP and as a four we headed over to Millers Bar in Caledonian Road. This certainly made for an entertaining and vocal end to the evening!
