During the autumn last year I was asked to contribute to the ‘View from the stands’ column, a now regular feature in the AFC Bournemouth programme: Matchday. Having been a lifelong supporter of the club, it was hugely gratifying to write for the detail-packed, award-winning publication. I was able to namecheck my brothers’ support for the Cherries in the 1950s and my Dad’s influence on our love for the game. The piece was published in the programme for the Bournemouth v Ipswich match at the Goldsands Stadium today, an exciting 1-1 draw I was able to attend with my wife Julie, son Ben, brother Ken and partner Debbie.
