TUC social history

I joined event expert Neil Davies this morning at Congress House in the West End, where the TUC had kindly agreed for the MU to stage its Social History exhibition until 14th October.

Neil had brought along, as supplied by our principal event supplier ProMedia, a series of customised frames to hold and present the 16 panels outlining the history of the Union since its inception in 1893. These had been created by the team at University of Glasgow responsible for the muhistory.com website.

The marble hall proved an ideal location, both for its spacious layout and busy thoroughfare, and will allow the many visitors to the building the chance to see the detail-packed panels. These are due to be transported to Manchester by the end of the month, where I understand the complete exhibition – with banners and MU items from down the years – will be on display at the People’s Museum in November.
