A fascinating afternoon at Tune Up, the composer-focused event, which this year took place at the British Film Institute on the Southbank. The MU were sponsors of the fourth seminar slot, which featured eclectic multi instrumentalist and session player Nick Pynn talking about his career and playing from his amazing collection of instruments.
The session was kicked off by the MU’s National Organiser for Recording & Broadcasting, Phil Kear, who outlined the benefits of membership to the audience and highlighted the importance the Union places upon securing the rights and interests of writers and composers. My colleague Maddy Radcliff was writing up the event for a future blog on the MU website while photographer Jonathan Stewart captured Nick in performance in preparation for a profile in The Musician magazine in 2018.
