MP4 v Homelessness

I was invited by Kevin Brennan, MP for Cardiff West, to the launch this evening of MP4’s new EP at the State Rooms of the Speaker of the House in the Houses of Parliament.  (MP4 consists of Kevin on guitar, Ian Cawsey who was Labour MP for Big and Goole until 2010 on bass, Greg Knight, Conservative MP for East Yorkshire on drums, and Pete Wishart, SNP MP for Perthshire, on keyboards).

The EP aims to bring attention to the excellent charity Musicians Against Homelessness which was created by Emma Rule and is backed by Creation Records boss Alan McGee.  The initiative seeks to raise vital funds for national homelessness charity Crisis.

During the evening I spoke to John Altman, (best known as ‘Nasty’ Nick Cotton in EastEnders), Journalist Garry Bushell, Steve Diggle, punk-era hero as guitarist with the Buzzcocks, and Feargal Sharkey who was great company as ever.  Great to catch up with Laura Ames-Carder and Robin Millar too.
