MU Forum, Glasgow

I was the main organiser of today’s MU forum ‘The Future of Music in Scotland’, which aimed to explore the issues for the arts raised by the upcoming referendum in Scotland. Held at the City Halls, Glasgow, and chaired by composer Bill Sweeney, the subjects on the agenda for discussion included broadcasting, copyright, live performance, and arts funding.

On the panels and involved in the debate from the floor, were MU General Secretary John Smith, John Robertson MP, Jean Urquhart MSP, Pete Wishart MP, Alex Gascoine of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and the highly respected musician, Fraser Spears. My thanks to everyone involved, especially the team from the MU Glasgow office, who all helped to ensure the captivating event ran very smoothly.
