My thanks to parliamentary rock band MP4, UK Music and sponsors Allwyn for the invitation this evening to a reception celebrating the 20th anniversary of the pop/rock foursome in the State Rooms, Speaker’s House, at the House of Commons. (MP4 consists of guitarist Kevin Brennan, keyboard player Pete Wishart, bassist and lead vocalist Ian Cawsey plus drummer Greg Knight).
The event had been organised by the kind permission of the Speaker, The Rt Hon Sir Lindsay Hoyle MP.
Present were names from across the political spectrum, including MPs Jo Stevens (see photo below) and Kerry McCarthy, plus Kevin Maguire from the Daily Mirror and Feargal Sharkey – who introduced the band with his usual aplomb.
MU Head for International Dave Webster and I then walked to Victoria and enjoyed a superb meal at Yaatra in Greycoat Place.
