I drove over to King’s Road, Chelsea, this evening to attend a performance by singer/songwriter Joanna Wallfisch and pianist Tom Hewson at The Pheasantry, an established venue in the Pizza Express Live network.
London born vocalist-composer Joanna heralds from generations of professional musicians and since 2011 has released six albums of original music. In the UK to promote her latest work, Joanna’s style defies genre classification as her songs contain hints of jazz, classical, art-song, and folk.
Currently residing in Los Angeles, Joanna sings with the Laude Ensemble, lectures at a songwriting faculty at Los Angeles College of Music, works regularly as a session vocalist, and is an early childhood music educator for non-profit Urban Voices Project.
