The second meeting involving the union representatives involved in planning the Labour Live event in June in Haringey took place this morning at Norman Shaw House in Westminster. A small but committed group heard how good progress had been made in booking acts and confirming the line-up for the one-day festival, that aims to attract 20,000 activists to White Hart Lane Recreation Ground.
The MU has been reserved the headline slot on the second ‘Solidarity’ stage and I hoped to secure sufficient budget from the Union’s Executive Committee to pay for a name band, an on-site stall, banner placements and general logo branding. The next EC meeting is scheduled for 11 April and, all being well, I already have a specific, socially-aware, band in mind to represent us.
