A relaxing evening at the Windmill on Clapham Common last night, as MU officials and staff bid farewell to out-going MU General Secretary John Smith in an event for the Union’s employees.
Arranged by the senior officials PAs, Jane Austin, Lisa Barry, it was great to catch up with colleagues from across the MU’s six regions. I collected Sessions Official Pete Thoms from his home, as he is still recovering from a nasty fall, as it was definitely a night for us to be all together. The band, Three Days Straight, played a tasteful and upbeat selection of hits which, alongside the excellent service from the staff at the venue, ensured the affair proved a worthy tribute to our main man since 2002.
