In the studio

I had the pleasure of catching up with Jim Hawkins twice this week, once on Tuesday at Assault & Battery studios in Willesden as he produced four tracks for singer/songwriter Florence Glen, and again this afternoon at his own facility in Kingston as we worked on the arrangement for our own composition, Between these walls. It was also great to meet old friend and bandmate John Park and bassist and Beckenham resident Geoff Gascoyne, who together were adding rhythm section parts at the Willesden studio to Florence’s charismatic material. Geoff left at the end of the session to drive to Ronnie Scott’s in Soho to accompany the legendary Michel Legrand during a three night residency.
