Gold Badge Awards

The British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors, in association with PRS for Music, held their annual Gold Badge Awards at the Savoy this afternoon and many of the industry’s leading lights were present to acknowledge the contributions to the music business made by the award winners. The latter included Sir George Martin, Paul Carrack, guitarist John Williams, the BBC’s Mark Cooper, Paul Carrack, Fran Nevrkla and writer Chris Welch.  I met several notable figures, such as Shadow’s drummer Brian Bennett, Rolf Harris and bassist Mo Foster, all of whom were great company.
