The Federation of Entertainment Unions hosted a three hour Mersey Cruise tonight as part of the TUC Conference 2014. Sailing from Liverpool’s Ferry Terminal Pier Head at 8pm, the invited guests were entertained by all-female four-piece, The Cassettes, who performed an ideal selection of Beatle classics and 1960s hits.
I travelled up from Euston during the day to help organise the event and liaise with local MU Officials, Morris Stemp and Matt Wanstall. Around 125 guests were on board, including an impressive contingent from the MU, including General Secretary John Smith, Assistant Gen Sec David Ashley, Executive Chair Kathy Dyson and EC members Harriet Bennett and Tom Edwards.
