Charity golf day

Another cracking day in the summer sunshine at Cumberwell Park GC in Wiltshire at the charity golf fundraiser arranged by Neil and Sarah Davies in aid of Dorothy House Hospice Care and the Bath Cancer Unit Support Group. In its second year following the successful inaugural day in 2017, the  event welcomed 60 golfers for 18 holes in the afternoon, while the evening dinner and auction in the superbly-appointed clubhouse saw the numbers in attendance rise to over 100.

I played in a threesome with Bruce and Barry, long-term friends of Neil, and whilst we played well in some parts of the course, we did not rack up enough points to feature high on the scoreboard. Congratulations to Mrs Down’s Boys who won with a startling 97 points!

After a pleasant evening with the well-oiled diners, I made the short trip to Trowbridge where I was staying for the night.
