Birdcage revisited

Birdcage revisited

The plan to make my Birdcage album available as a download accompaniment to Waterloo Sunrise gathered pace today, as I motored down to Canterbury in driving rain to Greg Fitzgerald’s studio.

We worked on Radio Play, which is the one track in need of revisiting from the original tapes. The legendary Ralph Salmins has kindly agreed to add his drum mastery to this in the coming days.

Plus Greg raised the idea of adding a theme closer, in a similar way to how we created the theme and final track for the vinyl album.

We also finalised two promo edits for the latest tracks. One containing four uptempo numbers (Trust; Quids; Nashville, Tennessee; Girl on the train) plus one of four ballads (Caring soul; Falling off the edge of the world; The girl I never had; Love on a summer’s day).

Exciting developments.
