Birdcage performed live once again, after a break of over ten years, when John Park (cajon/percussion), Jim Hawkins (piano) and I performed an acoustic set at The English Restaurant in London’s Spitalfields tonight. Playing at the invitation of vocalist and bandleader Jimmy Cannon – who also played songs from his forthcoming album with pianist Dorian Ford -we dusted down some of our best loved tunes including Nicoll Road, Blind drunk & stupid Cupid, You hurt no-one but yourself, Falling prey and Love on a summer’s day. An enjoyable gig, although we missed our compadre bassist Dave Williamson, who unfortunately couldn’t make it. Perhaps soon!
