This evening I met up with Jonathan Stewart at the Brewhouse and Kitchen in Hoxton for the beer masterclass that my stepdaughter had kindly bought me as part of my 60th birthday celebrations.
We had an excellent evening in the company of matter brewer Michael who presented eight beers for us to sample:
- Legend Craft Lager
- Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier
- English Heritage ale
- B&K American pale ale
- Belgian Tongerlo Blonde (probably my favourite)
- B&K traditional IPA
- Tailgate peanut butter stout
- Schlenkerla smoked beer
Michael then showed us his still and brewing equipment, before we returned to the bar and enjoyed a superb burger.
