I attended the first meeting of the Beckenham Cricket Club Junior Section Committee this evening, in which we reviewed how the matches in the summer of 2019 were administered and how we could collectively improve the experience for players and parents, plus put plans in place for encouraging membership in 2020.
There was a respectable turnout, with around twenty members and administrators on hand, led by Chair Emyr Roberts and Amanda Combes who kindly agreed to minute the discussions and decisions. An organisational structure for the coming season was proposed and I offered to assist, understandably, with communications and marketing.
The meeting was a very useful start for the Committee and I look forward to contributing to its work in the coming months.
