A pleasure to visit Mark Knopfler’s studios in British Grove, Chiswick, to hear Hunter and the Bear perform an acoustic set of two songs, plus benefit from a play-through of their new album, Paper Heart.
Jimmy (lead guitar & vocals), Will (lead vocals & rhythm guitar), Gareth (drums & vocals) and Chris (bass & vocals) were in fine form and their harmonies filled the wonderful space and were appreciated by the intimate gathering. On hand in the control room were the CD’s producers Joe Kearns and Jason Elliott, who have done an excellent job in capturing the band’s indie rock leanings. Whilst amongst the new faces in the studio, was journalist/photographer/musician Jesse McPhee who is garnering respect and acclaim for her potential-packed work.
