A busy pre-Christmas evening involving two events, one being an annual formal event in the West End and the second a brand networking gathering in Camden. Firstly, I attended the BBC yearly Christmas Drinks Reception, hosted by the Policy, Political and Corporate Stakeholder teams. Always a pleasure to touch base once again with long-term public affairs contacts in the Council Chamber at BBC Broadcasting House in Portland Place. Good to catch up in particular with Vanessa Elliott, BAFTA member and corporate communications expert, and to meet Kristian Porter, CEO of the Public Media Alliance.
I then drove over to Camden’s Electric Ballroom, where JSM (John Saunderson’s networking events) and sponsors Altra Moda Music (of the Netherlands) were hosting an event for the ‘industry’s finest’ to meet, collaborate and network with other writers, producers, artists, managers, agents, publishers and labels. The numerous rooms, bars and performance area were packed, however I soon ran into a number of familiar faces and spoke to a handful of new contacts including the respected percussionist Tello Morgado.
