Royal Albert Hall

Royal Albert Hall

A very successful event at the Albert Hall tonight, as I joined the staff and volunteers in raising funds for the Royal Society of Musicians (RSM) as The Really Big Chorus presented the world’s most celebrated choral participation event – Handel’s Messiah “from Scratch.” This is a truly adrenaline-filled performance of Handel’s masterpiece with singers and audience alike leaving the concert buzzing with excitement.  The unique event returns year after year, filling the Hall with the sound of more than 2,000 voices and the unusual sight of performers outnumbering the audience by three to one.

This year, all money raised from programme sales, advertising and sponsorship is set to benefit the RSM and I am delighted to report that the sales of programmes raised over £8,000 alone.

My thanks to everyone from the Society for the warm welcome and the opportunity to enjoy the concert from a seat in the Royal Box. Certainly a unique experience.
