Party at the 229

Party at the 229

An excellent evening at the 229 Club in Great Portland Street, as the efforts to organise a Christmas Party for the Council of Music Makers – at very short notice – all paid off. The Council consists of five music organisations: the MU, the Featured Artists Coalition (FAC), The Ivors Academy, the Music Producers’ Guild (MPG) and the Music Managers’ Forum (MMF), and members from all five ensured an encouraging turnout of several hundred party goers.

My thanks to colleagues from the Council who contributed so much, especially Sam Murray, Grace Croucher of The Ivors, Aleksa Evele of FAC, Annika Craine of the MMF. Plus kudos to the venue’s superb management and staff, Future Fusion for sponsoring the drinks, DJ Thomas Leroy for a great set, Jonathan Stewart for his photography and Mark Batchelor for his hugely-appreciated support.

Marvellous to catch up with many names and faces from the industry, including Jamie and Vincent of UK Music, Paul Scaife of Record of the Day, journalist and songwriter Neil Crossley, and Lee Hart and Fred Parker of Future. Also a pleasure to meet new contacts, including Production Manager Felicity Pilsworth and artist Noelle Vanyi.
