Down the pub
Kevin’s out with the lads
knocking back and throwing a flight.
It’s where he’ll always be found
away from his girl
on a Friday night.

Ten o’clock
as he hits double top
in trouble motors fit to bust.
Carol’s been seen at a bar
unusual for her
parading a touch
parading a touch too much lust.

Trust.

Optional verse:
  In the car
  he’s given up the fight
and had to leave two mates behind.
He’s got to know for himself
  and wants to know now
  what she has in mind.

At the bar
Carol picks up her bag
as Kevin pulls up in the street.
When they kiss in the doorway
she turns on the charm
denying the charge
denying the charge of deceit.

Trust.

Trust.

Driving home
Carol waves it away
Kevin reads her chapter and verse.
Knowing this one is over
and smiling inside
she thinks of the note
she thinks of the note in her purse.

Trust.

Trust.
