The summer issue of The Musician was distributed today to all paid up members of the MU and to selected industry and parliamentary contacts. The news section led with an update on the instruments on planes campaign and reported on the Music Education Expo. Features included an article on the trend for new teaching agencies, a focus on how conservatoires prepare students for a life in music, an advice piece on performance royalties, plus a history of the Union anniversary special. The profile interviews included drummer Ralph Salmins, leading jazz group Led Bib and an orchestral profile of Manchester Camerata.
