Sarastro

I caught a train from Beckenham into Charing Cross this evening to visit Sarastro in Covent Garden and to meet up with Luisa Santiago, the Brit School graduate, who had been one of the songwriters at the Chris Difford retreat I attended earlier this month. She was performing at a weekly residency at the restaurant in Drury Lane alongside her father, Gustavo, a percussionist.

This proved to be a very enjoyable evening, with the combination of wonderful Latin music and the venue’s excellent Mediterranean menu making for a memorable night out in town. The upbeat salsa, bolero, rumba, cha cha cha and Latin pop had the clientele dancing for the majority of the duo’s set. Definitely worth checking out if you seek a lively Friday!
