Performers’ Alliance

The MU, Equity and the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain host a reception each year to jointly lobby on behalf of artists, performers and writers. Tonight’s event on the Terrace at the House of Commons saw a significant turnout of star names including Iron Maiden‘s Bruce Dickinson. Activists heard from a range of speakers such as Shadow Culture Minister Dan Jarvis and Ed Vaizey (UK Minister for Culture, Communications and Creative Industries). Those present also acclaimed a trio of young artists, with MU member Tim Heath highlighting the Union’s new research into the working lives of musicians.
