Meeting AFCB

My son Ben and I are spending a few days in my hometown of Bournemouth, enjoying the summer sun and visiting old haunts around the town and in the neighbouring  Christchurch and Poole.

This morning we visited the Vitality Stadium, home to my team AFC Bournemouth, the Cherries, and took the chance to pass by the training ground next door. Arriving at lunchtime meant we did not have to wait long before some of the players stepped through the gate after the morning session.

We were able to say hello to Dutch international Nathan Ake, Norwegian Josh King, Charlie Daniels, the legendary Steve Fletcher, Scotland’s Ryan Fraser and current England international Callum Wilson. The best moment was saved to the last though, as we shook hands and spoke to manager Eddie Howe.

My thanks to all the players and staff who took the time to have their pictures taken with Ben. A special moment.
